DID YOU KNOW:
> 'REGULAR' yield vs. 'HIGH' yield toner cartridges.
HP designates their toner cartridges as
'A' (regular yield) or 'X' (High yield). Some of their products do not offer a high
yield cartridge for specific machines. Know what your buying before you decide "this toner cartridge is cheaper".
Your 'cost per page' (CPP) is better with high yield toners.
> All paper
is created equal??
Inexpensive/ discounted/ cheap paper,
is the number one reason for printer repairs and cleanings. If you buy this type of paper, all the money you
saved will be paid to the technicians to keep your machines from jamming. Copiers, printers, fax machines. They all
move paper at different speeds. Lint from your 'cheap' paper collects on the rollers and impeeds the movement to the next
sensor or roller. False paper jams can drive you nuts! Do yourself a favor and buy a better quality paper.
Just because it's 'paper' doesn't mean you can use it in your machine. Know the paper limitations of your machines, before
your start ordering custom letterhead and business media. Improper print commands from your computer to your printer,
is another problem that initiates service calls. " My printer is broken, every time I print on this media, it smudges." The
newer 'instant on' machines need computer commands to tell it how fast and what tempurature to melt the toner onto
you media. Know your printer limitations! > OEM means 'Original Equipment Manufactured'.
This is an industry term that
tells you the 'manufacturer' made the toner for your machine. Remanufactured toner cartridge companies, can
not use OEM toner in their cartridges. So, with the multitude of after market toners available, why is there such a disparity
of pricing on 'remanufacutured' cartridges. If you're only shopping PRICE, you're probably not getting the
best deal.
Does your toner cartridge
supplier: change ALL the critical components to insure quality AND
reliability? Randomly test their finished product, by testing it in a printer or testing device? Sometimes, they
cut corners by changing only the parts they think 'might' fail. Install a 'shipping seal' so toner doesn't
leak? Change the 'smart chip' which allows ALL features of your
machine to function properly? Using the right toner, so the melting tempurature does not smear or jam while printing?
Not replacing all the necessary parts gives the manufacuturer the ability
to sell them cheap, but print quality will suffer.
Some of the major supply companies
import their cartridges from a foreign country (typically China), where labor is cheap. They're not helping the printing industry
by flooding the market with cheap products, while making hugh profits at our expense. You are trusting your supplier
to provide you with a quality, cost effective product that works properly. Some of the cheap toners will not
provide 'graphics' quality. They only work for text, at best. If you need graphics quality, purchase the 'premium' toners.
You may pay more, but the quality is definitely worth it. 'Remanufactured' toner cartridges are definitely cheaper
than purchasing OEM, but BUYER BEWARE!
